MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

Job Description:
Works with the team on the creation and fabrication of product designs, components, test equipment, and fabrication equipment.
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as AutoCAD, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, or other computer-aided design software.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Prepares and maintains equipment for manufacturing activities. Follows approved protocols and documents all activities clearly and accurately.
May design fixtures, tools, or components for products, test methods, or manufacturing using CAD.
Aids engineering teams using sound design principles and knowledge of machining, fabrication processes, manufacturing, and assembly.
Under minimal supervision, performs software quality related technical assignments of substantial complexity, to include: Specification documentation, risk management documentation, validation protocol documentation, test execution, test deviation investigation, final report documentation,
Develops system use cases that describe the system's intended functional behavior.
Investigates and characterizes software exceptions or any condition that does not meet expectations.
Performs and may assist in planning assignments of a non-routine nature for which operational precedents are not fully applicable.
Assists in data collection and documentation, such as software requirements or software risk management decisions.
Extracts technical or other data from various reports and processes and presents the data.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
5 + years experience with converting processes or printing processes.
5+ years experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting.
Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
Preferred: experience with a computer automated design package.
Preferred: experience working in GMP and/or ISO preferred operations.
Associates degree in design/drafting/engineering or related field preferred, or an equivalent in work experience
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve moderately complex technical problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
